Design Challenge:
The Chicago Public School System embarked on a Capital Improvement Program, and one of the objectives was to replace outdated boilers in many of their buildings. Clinton Elementary School was one of the designs that were constructed throughout the City of Chicago during the first part of last Century.

Design Solution:
Two new staged boilers were installed in the existing boiler house along with new domestic hot water storage. Air Handlers and Building Exhaust systems were replaced. A new electrical UPS system was installed in the boiler room in its own enclosure. Existing classroom storage cabinets were modified to allow new exhaust ducts to run up through the building. Doors were replaced in the basement plenum spaces.
