Frank Michalski, Principal

Thirteen years ago, Frank founded Northlight Architects in order to work more closely and directly with clients who seek both a creative and steady partner in the architectural design process. Since then, Frank has collaborated with numerous homeowners who have needed a trusted guide and expert through the design/ build process; with developers who need an expert-on-the-spot to support their timeline and goals; and with business owners who need someone to balance their creative vision and practical needs.

A registered architect in the states of Illinois and Ohio, he is LEED accredited, an active member of the American Institute of Architects, Chicago Chapter and had been active with the Construction Specifications Institute, where he served as a board member from 2002-2006. He is also is a City of Chicago registered energy professional.

Mr. Michalski received his Masters degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he was the recipient of the Ryerson Traveling Fellowship in 1982. He studied in London while completing his Bachelor of Architecture degree at the University of Wisconsin/Milwaukee.


Eric Schwartzbach

Eric Schwartzbach received his Master of Architecture degree at the Illinois Institute of Technology where he was a Louis Vuitton SPARK Award Finalist.  Prior to this he received a Bachelor of Arts in American History from Syracuse University with a Minor in Architecture.  He is currently working towards becoming a registered architect in the state of Illinois.
